(Austin, TX) — Incumbent Texas attorney general Ken Paxton is the clear winner of Tuesday’s Republican primary runoff.
Paxton defeated challenger George P. Bush, the state’s two-term land commissioner, who is the last of the Bush political family to still hold elected office. Former ACLU lawyer Rochelle Garza of Brownsville defeated former Galveston mayor Joe Jaworski in the Democratic primary.
Paxton and Garza will face each other in the November general election.
