(Bosque Co., TX) — Residents of Bosque County are breathing a sigh of relief as crews start to get a large wildfire under control.

The so-called “Hardcastle” fire is 70% contained as of the weekend.  It has so far burned a total of 600 acres.

Adding to the firefighting woes, on Sunday evening Bosque County Emergency Management reported that another wildfire was sparked by a flatbed trailer loaded with round hay bales that had caught fire on Hwy 22 East of Meridian around CR 1070.

The Bosque County fire is just one of more than 11-hundred wildfires the Texas A&M Forest Service has responded to so far this year.
