Fort Worth Medstar Keeping Busy With Heat-Related Calls

(Fort Worth, TX) — Fort Worth MedStar says it’s responding to more than twice as many heat-related calls as they were at this time last year.

With temperatures in triple digits, officials are advising residents to take the dangers of heat illness seriously. A MedStar spokesman says elderly folks in older homes that aren’t well insulated or ventilated, and are cooled only by box fans, are especially vulnerable to heat-related illness.

Monday’s calls involved people both indoors and outdoors.
